Utsunomiya - City View - a photo on Flickriver

Morning view from the hotel window. A sea of family houses. What catches the eye (at least if you live in Shanghai, like me, or a similar city) is the complete lack of apartment towers.

Utsunomiya (宇都宮) is the capital of Tochigi Prefecture (栃木県). A real sleepy town, compared to the hustle and bustle of Tokyo (Remark: think about Boise, ID vs. NYC).

Interesting for the Canon fans: Canon manufactures EF lenes at the Utsunomiya Plant, as well as running an Optics R&D Center here.

And for the car fans: The Honda Engineering Co. (R&D Center) is located in Utsunomiya.
