Erding - City Tower - a photo on Flickriver

The city tower of Erding also serves as bell tower of the St. Johann church. As a city tower it does feature a Türmerstube from where a duty guard was watching out for fires (or approaching enemies). The tower was built in the late 14th century, the roof was renewed in 1651.

The red building is the Schrannenhalle, built 1866 in gothic revival style. A Schranne in southern Germany is a storage and trading place for grains, mostly wheat, barley and rye. Today it is used by a bank.

Finally - in case the town name Erding rings a bell - yes, this is the town where the Erdinger beer comes from. 🍺
