Indian Blankets (or Fire Wheels, Gaillardia pulchella (Asteraceae)) blow in the wind on Old Howard Road, in Temple, on May 10. Indian Blankets bloom from May-September, and are drought tollerant annuals that are native to the central United States.

I took this photo by putting on a 2 stop ND filter and a circular polarizing filter on my lens, an on camera flash set to 1/1 zoomed to 24 ungelled on rear curtain, so that I could slow down the exposure to 1/6 a second at f/22 and get the motion the flowers blowing in the wind.
