Still Life With Fruit - a photo on Flickriver

My interpretation of a painting by Jacob van Walscapelle, a Dutch painter in the Mid 17th to early 18th century. The painting is in the European museum at the Huntington Library and Gardens.

This was my second visit to the Huntington and I still haven't viewed all there is to see. I enjoy photographing the masterpieces and editing in my own style. In this case the original is quite dark and some of the special details as the ladybug, the ant on the peach, the red and black bug on the left,
the black beetle on the left of the table went unnoticed until I edited the photo. I'm amazed at the fine details the artist painstakingly created. When I'm at a museum, there is so much to see in so little time that it's a joy for me to photograph some of the paintings to study in my own time.
