The River - a photo on Flickriver

The River

            Had been planning to try this for a while but on Wednesday I arrived at the river ready to photograph the Banded Demoiselle at eye level chasing each other across the water surface.

With a bit of trepidation I set my old Uniloc tripod up in the middle of the river and then carefully carried my gear out there. Triple checking everything was secure | was ready to go. The water, up to waist level wasn't that cold - actually quite a relief from the heat.

Apart from shoals of small (trout I think) gently nibbling my toes and legs - no major dramas. Also had pleasure of a Kingfisher zooming past me at eye level a few feet away.

These 3 males are vying for best perching position on a small island of river grass.
