BNSF 9241 Grand Forks 8 Apr 06 - a photo on Flickriver

            Yesterday I uploaded a photo of a uniquely-painted Oakway (EMD 9085) and mentioned it was the first of two trains I caught this day....well, here's the other train I snagged on 8 Apr 06, a Triclops-led Clay Boswell coal empty pulling out of the yard in Grand Forks, ND.

Coal power in 2006 across the northern plains was still heavily dominated by DC-powered EMDs, so 8 years later, it's hard to believe this was once considered "ho-hum" power.  Fortunately, I never really had that mindset about the coal power pool, but I do admit I had it for H2-painted Dash 9s (as well as faded H2 MACs).  SD60Ms, regardless of window arrangement, were always a prized catch.  While I preferred the dual-window variety to the 3-window, the Triclops was always welcome in my viewfinder!
