Sunning of the Thangka--Langmusi , Gansu Province , China

On the 15th day of the 1st month of the lunar calendar, a magnificent "sunning of the Tapestry of the Buddha" festival took place here on a hill . This consecration of the thangka was heralded by lamas beating gongs and trumpeting from the summit.
