Six-Spotted Tiger Beetle - April 2024

            Sharing a tanning bed with a Bronze Leaf Beetle on the moist forest floor. Judging by the size of those mandibles, the little one best be keeping it's distance!

Something interesting to note is the amount of sediment present on the grass/leaves etc... At one point the water was far above this level as meltwater from the Winter snow flowed downhill into the creek not too far from here.
