TMNT - Team Mecha Ninja Turtles - a photo on Flickriver

            Granting their turtle pilots ninja abilities through versatile mech suits powered by ooze fuel cells on the back, this team is ready for anything!

My team for Mechtober2020 complete! Being a long time fan of the Ninja Turtles, I always wanted to build them in Lego-form, but never really figured out how to approach it. When Mechtober was announced with a challenge to build 4 different mechs in a same theme in a month, I instantly had this idea and just had to do it. It's been a learning process for me building mechs, as this is quite outside my comfort zone, but it's also been a lot of fun. I wanted each one to be as individual as their personalities are, and reflect how the originals are. I also chose to use a different green for each, trying to match the different greens up well with their headband-colors. I reused some core elements in their design to keep them looking similar while still exploring the best way to build them with the different parts available in each color. 

Raphael didn't turn out too great and is the hardest to pose without collapsing, I guess I'll consider him the prototype for the others which all have improved and more stable builds (although still typical Cecilie-flimsy). 

Donatello was a total blast I'm super happy about how he turned out, although his top will fall off real easy as it's basically not attached, hah. I tried to achieve a more mechanical look for him, since he's the hacker, it fit him better to look more machine-like.

With Leonardo I tried to explore a more samurai-ish look seeing as he's a katana wielder. My first attemps at a head for him were more inspired by samurai-helments, but I felt it made him look too similar to Shredder, so I ended up with a more basic headwrap to keep his ninja-looks even with body being samurai-inspired.

Michelangelo is basically a better Raphael. Improving on the things I failed at with him and a better and more integrated cockpit. He also poses the easiest of all four. And I did save building him for last since he's my favourite!
