            Looking west from the south-eastern edge of the bay of Plakiás. 

Plakiás is a nice small village on the southern coast of Crete (Greece) with a great sandy bay that is framed by a rocky coast at both ends. The main cliff of Plakias, with excellent quality of rock and about 50 meters high, is just a few meters away from where this shot was taken. This almost perfectly vertical cliff is very popular among (free)climbers.

Plakiás ist ein kleines Dorf an der Südküste Kretas an einer schönen mit Felsen begrenzten Sandbucht. Besonders beeindruckend ist die senkrechte Felswand am südlichen Ende der Bucht (nur einige Meter hinter dem Aufnahmestandpunkt), die bei Kletterern sehr beliebt ist.
