Transition - a photo on Flickriver

I was driving around on one of those seasonal transition days in March. It wasn't quite winter any longer, yet it certainly wasn't spring. I came across this empty parking lot sitting in front of a shuttered K-Mart. The light, the compositional elements, the moody colors, and the reflections created by the dampness all called to me to pull over and shoot.

I made a few exposures, but once I found this one with the sewer in the foreground, I was happy. That sewer serves as an anchor, both compositionally and thematically.
