Keeping the wolf at Bay..... - a photo on Flickriver

            Summer 2007 and the first time Stagecoach had taken a proper 'shot' at First on their patch with the X45 service between Plymouth and Paington.
First's response was to introduce open tops on X80 shorts between Paignton and Torquay.
It worked as Stagecoach withdrew the X45 the following season, the main issue I think being that the service didn't run through to Torquay, people didn't want to change buses at Paington which they had to do (picking up a 12) when using Stagecoach.
34750 was a unfortunate bridge accident victim while operating in Par, Cornwall but found a swansong use in O/T form and looking good here in some Summer sun.
