FROZEN RAINBOW LAKE - a photo on Flickriver

Rainbow Lake Colorado USA,
Jan. 2, 2010 Elevation 10,200 feet.
Our snowshoe trek from the Wet Mountain Valley up to Rainbow Lake took 4 hours.
The bowl around the lake was wind swept almost clean of snow.
In the trees around the rim we found 8 foot deep drifts!
The temp. was 12 deg. F.
Wind gusting over 30 MPH.
Snow showers blowing thru...
