Dinky Toys No. 641 Humber 1-ton Truck, first hoops

            I bought this last year in a car boot sale in Castleford for £5 but it was missing its tin tilt which represents the canvas protective cover at the rear on Dinky military vehicles.
Rather than buying a reproduction cover I decided to fit it with hoops, these are used to support the canvas on the real vehicles. I bought some brass rod and the three latitudinal ones are shown here, the next steps will be three longtitudinal bars. I will then apply some paint and leave it on display uncovered, it was not unusual to see truck in this state in the army.
