Nevada City, An Autumn Scene (HFF) - a photo on Flickriver

            During the hot dry summer months, I can hardly wait to blow town and spend time along the coast. But when the autumn months arrive, you can't drag me out of town, and I spend many a morning stalking the various neighborhoods in Nevada City, looking for the fall color.

I took this picture while standing in the churchyard of the Nevada City Catholic Church, looking out over the the old Baptist Church, and the town below. I was also trying to figure out which church would hold the winning hand during a lightening strike, or major cataclysmic event. I decided there was nothing in that for me--it strikes me, there's no wisdom in questioning providence. Some thoughts are not worth the heat they generate as they clip along the ole neuropaths.
