            Archaeological dig (october 2006) of the original floor of the Temple of Peace - probably the north-eastern corner of the main hall. at the side of the Via Dei Fori Imperiali between The Basilica of Constantine, the (later) forum Transitorium and The Basilica of Aemilia.
The temple of Peace was begun by Vespasian after the capture of Jerusalem in 71 A.D. and dedicated in 75. In it were placed many of the treasures taken from Jerusalem, as well as famous works of Greek artists, it also had a library and many pieces from the Domus Aurea, which Nero had gathered from throughout the empire were also displayed.
Considered by Pliny to be one of the three most beautiful buildings in Rome, for Herodian, writing more than a century and a half later, the Temple of Peace was "the largest and most beautiful of all the buildings in the city,"
