In the best way: I finally came into some brass(Sexpo Melbourne was a BIG success), picked up the laid away 35 K, then asked politely to jump the 2 week service queue for conversion  at the very local Camera Clinic in Collingwood, Melbourne. AUD $88 later...

You can see from this pic, wide open, it's spot on for what I intended, a super fast, dreamy and characterful bokeh monster standard lens at home on either DX or FX bodies...
