Riding the When & If - a photo on Flickriver

            This boat, which visited the 2018 Tall Ships Festival in Galveston, TX, once belonged to Gen. George Patton. The current owner gave it its name, 'When and If', from a statement by Patton, who said that when World War II was over, and if he survived it, he would take his wife on a round-the-world cruise on this boat. Unfortunately, he was injured in a car wreck in Germany a few months after war's end and later died of his injuries. He was buried in the American cemetery in Luxembourg.
