Look up - a photo on Flickriver

Look up

            While diving, you mostly look down onto the reef. At the very end of this night dive, and in about 1.5m of water, I looked up to see a keeltail needlefish right on the surface. I usually don't think much of them, but snapped an image anyway. I noticed the reflection only afterwards. 

A distinctive feature of this fish is that the upper jaw is shorter than the lower jaw, which I guess is an adaptation for feeding on the surface. There is nothing to give a sense of scale, but I would estimate the length of the needlefish to be about 20cm.
