Her husband Giovanni Pandiani and her daughter Adelaide Pandiani Mariani were both sculptors.
Here below in 1908, Adelaide says that being both a mother and an artist requires "grave sacrifices." Nevertheless,  the art is secondary to the needs of the husband and, interestingly,  given this statue, to the mother as well: "Non io certo vorrò negare che l’esercizio di tale arte sia inconciliabile con l’adempimento scrupoloso dei doveri di madre, ma, e mi si consenta in ciò di parlare in nome della mia esperienza personale, io dico che ciò si ottiene soltanto a patto di gravi sacrifici, a patto di una ferrea disciplina delle forze dello spirito e di quelle morali e dico pure che anche con questa disciplina, anche con questi sacrifici, l’operosità artistica non può non essere spesso danneggiata od almeno limitata perché l’artista deve sempre cedere il passo alla sposa e, soprattutto, alla madre."
