La Bonne Mère

            Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde (en provençal, Nouestro-Damo de la Gardo), souvent surnommée « la Bonne Mère », est une basilique mineure du XIXe siècle de l'Église catholique. Emblème de Marseille, dédiée à Notre-Dame de la Garde (protectrice de Marseille avec Saint Victor), elle domine la ville et la mer Méditerranée depuis le sommet de la colline Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde (site classé depuis 1917).
Véritable palladium de la ville de Marseille, Notre-Dame de la Garde est depuis le Moyen Âge considérée comme la gardienne des marins et des pêcheurs.
