Above Waikiki's Pink Hotel (Explored 02/27/25 at 195)

I dreamed of getting a photo of the historic (1927) bright pink Royal Hawaiian Hotel at sunrise, with the pinkness of the clouds in the distance. My first morning sunrise was spent at a beach further up the coast and there were hardly any clouds in the sky.

Here on my second morning, I walked the two blocks from my hotel to the pathway leading to Waikiki Beach on the other side of the Royal Hawaiian. It was still dark, and I didn't know what to expect, since from the ground with the high rise hotels towering above, I didn't see any clouds.

When I launched the drone, I flew it far enough out to get the whole panorama of the beach, but I wanted the pink hotel to be front and center, almost as if I were photographing an image that could be used for their sales literature.

I got the shot I was looking for pretty soon after getting the drone up in the sky, and didn't even notice until opening up the image for processing that the clouds in the distance, are, indeed, pink as well.
