Part of the amazing gardens of the 15th Century Buddhist temple at the north end of the Philosopher's Path (Tetsugaku No Michi), which winds itself along a canal in northeastern Kyoto.

I shot a lot of photos of cherry trees in bloom along the Philosopher's Path, and I was there early enough so there wasn't a crush of tourists to ruin the scenery, but I was really impressed by the gardens at the Jisho-ji Temple, (which includes a sand mound shaped like Mt. Fuji) especially this area which looks like it's deep in a forest.
