"Avec cette installation l’artiste inuk Jusipi Nalukturuk parle de mémoire ancestrale. Une extension du mot inuk, homme, inukshuk signifie littéralement « qui agit à la place de l’homme ». De formes et de tailles variées, les inuksuit (pluriel d’inukshuk) sont constitués d’un empilement de pierres non taillées. Tantôt guide, tantôt repère ou marqueur, ces messagers se retrouvent par centaines sur tous les territoires habités par les peuples inuit. Celui-ci, de forme anthropomorphique, est composé de quelque 200 pierres et a d’abord été construit sur l’ile de Naqsaluk, au large d’Inukjuak au Nunavik."
