Wistmans Woods

            The highlight of my 3 day trip to Dartmoor had to be Wistmans Woods. An ancient oak woodland that has the knarlliest twisted trees you've ever seen. The trees have grown up between huge boulders covered in luscious green moss. I wasn't there during the best lighting conditions but once you had climbed into the woods it didn't matter any how as the it all got a bit claustrophobic. The chaos was everywhere and made getting a composition really hard. I could have spent a week here trying to find the perfect comp and in the end I settled this as the best of 100+ shots I eventually took. It felt like being on the set of Lord Of The Rings, there was a spooky eerie feel all the time you were immersed in the woods. This is a place I want to revisit in the future and perhaps dedicate a whole day here and not just a few hours.
