Alon-ness, Connection, Togetherness - a photo on Flickriver

Morning capture at Nth Stradbroke Island, Queensland, Australia.

At the crux of this mini-series is that alon-ness (vis-à-vis, or not, loneliness) is usually hard to attain in a society constantly on the move, time-poor, too busy, and always encouraging group-think and sharing. Subsequently, alon-ness often highlights the value of solitude.

Solitude enhances self-awareness, recollection, and connection to self. In addition, dependent on circumstances, to nature, as illustrated here at the beach with the beautiful ocean and reflections.

In this shot though we also see and recognise “togetherness” through connection not only with self, and/or nature, but with others also.

As Amit Ray opines: “You are never alone. You are eternally connected with everyone.”

In turn, such circumstances, in different guises, forms and times, are believed to inform one’s well-being and life integrity to get along at all times, despite the usual difficulties and challenges.
