The Transit Cow?

This cow statue in South Station has the Boston rapid transit system painted all over its body. (The blue areas are water.) I guess the circle-T on its forehead is the brand for the MBTA, the transit system's name, and the one red teat is the southern end of the Red Line (but which end -- Ashmont or Braintree?)

The words across its horns are a lyric from a local political song that the Kingston Trio made into a national hit in the Fifties. They called it "M.T.A." (the old name for the system), but most people know it as "Charlie on the MTA" -- "He may ride forever 'neath the streets of Boston / He's the man who never returned."
