            Narrowdale Hill on the southern edgeedge of a cloud inversion, 

For several days over the Christmas period there was a long-lasting inversion over the Peak District. Ashbourne remained in the fog for the whole of the period, but further north it was possible to get higher and above the white stuff (we'd parked in Alstonefield which was in the fog when we started and when we finished our walk) Family stuff meant I only managed to get out for a couple of hours on a couple of days, but it was worth it
