High Wheeldon - a photo on Flickriver

High Wheeldon

High Wheeldon is a good viewpoint but has many fewer visitors than its lower but pointier neighbours Chrome and Parkhouse Hill.

It's main claim to fame is Fox Hole Cave
heritagerecords.nationaltrust.org.uk/HBSMR/MonRecord.aspx... which is on the NW ridge (the prominent ridge in the shot) which has yielded remains of occupation going back thousands of years. Occasionally it is opened to the public and it is possible to descend a fair way underground
