Cicindela under a microfilm lens - a photo on Flickriver

            Studio stack from a Cicindela (West-African collection specimen). Taken with a 22mm lens (marked: 22mm Japan U) from a microfiche reader (MicroDesign). The barrel of this lens has no thread so I carefully taped it to an RMS ring (almost exactly the same diameter) which fits my series of extension tubes (I used 117mm here). I gave it an iris from a Leitz Wetzlar RMS microscope objective. The working distance ranges between 13-14mm, i.e. enough to work with. This is a stack of 190 images (ISO200, 1/2sec), Zerene stacker (Pmax, no post processing, no cropping). This lens is very cheap (I've seen one for 4dollars) and it seems a very good substitute for the more expensive microscope objectives.
