RT3062 (KXW171)

            The mission on a sortie to Shepherds Bush garage sometime in 1978 was to find two London Transport RT lasts: the last Saunders RT on the books, and the last roofbox RT in stock – RT3062, redesignated as an engineering trainer but used for quite a while. Found it sure enough, but tucked away behind a dead B20 DMS. Not ideal for a pic, but managed to get the roofbox and fleetnumber in shot. Of interest is the service 104 blind in the top box; no idea how that came to be in there.

RT3062 was sold in 1981 to Ensign's who renovated it as a people carrier again, passing to Blue Triangle and now part of the London Bus Company heritage fleet.
