Liebe geht durch den Schnabel - Zwei Uferschnepfen küssen sich 1/5

            Ein verliebtes Uferschnepfen Pärchen auf einer Feuchtwiese.

Ich beobachtete längere Zeit ein verliebtes Uferschnepfen Pärchen auf einer Feuchtwiese im Ochsenmoor.
Nach ausgiebigem Vorspiel schob das Männchen seinen ca. 10 cm langen, biegsamen Schnabel in voller Länge in den geöffneten Schnabel des Weibchens. In dieser Stellung verharrten sie eine ganze Weile.
Das war ein faszinierendes Schauspiel!!
Dass sich Vögel ihre Zuneigung durch Schnäbeln zeigen, kannte ich bis jetzt nur von Wellensittichen und Kanarienvögeln. Dass das aber auch mit einem 10 cm langen Schnabel funktioniert war mir vollkommen neu und hatte ich vorher noch nie beobachtet.
