Neottia ovata - group of 3 plants - a photo on Flickriver

            Neottia ovata, the Common Twayblade, or European Twayblade

Small, downward-facing, yellow-green flowers, on relatively tall inflorescences. Characteristic lip. 

A nice group of 3 flowering plants, growing in the middle of poison ivy!

Certainly one of the 'feature' flowers of the 2019 NOC. This is a European species that has become naturalized in a couple of locations in Ontario. It was first reported across the road from a (now infamous) barn near Red Bay, and it has subsequently spread a few km from the original locality. We found hundreds of plants in bud, but (luckily) found a couple with open flowers.

A rare treat, especially for North America!!
