Male Lion - Leo Panthera - a photo on Flickriver

Our latest trip to the Masai Mara during November 2021 did not disappoint and was a welcome relief after the many postponements due to the Covid 19 Virus.
Since our last trip in 2019 there had been a lot of changes within the animal kingdom, including the loss of many of our majestic male Lions such as Lolparpit, Scar, Sikio and Olbarnoti to name but a few. However, new males had moved in and a whole new hierarchy had evolved.

This is "Olope" also known as "Frank 2" who is one of the two Moniko pride males.

Now that things are starting to get back to normal and the need for pre-departure testing and isolation upon return to the UK has been withdrawn its time to start thinking about a trip to the Masai Mara whilst the prices are still at an all time low. Zebra Plains Mara Camp are keeping their 2020 prices for the whole of 2022 so there is a no better time to book that safari before the prices increase.
