Illumination

This is the lower concourse at Gants Hill, the underground station that's often dubbed "Moscow Hall" for its resemblance to the Russian metro stations that architect Charles Holden provided construction advice on during the 1930s.

My visit to this station was on a quiet weekend when a portion of the Central Line was closed for engineering works, so I didn't have to wait long until the station was empty. My aim with this image was to focus on the lighting along the platform and the amazing detail in the station's barrel-vaulted halls.
