57304 - Crewe - a photo on Flickriver

57304 - Crewe

            Waiting for the signal to head back to depot, 57304 "Pride of Cheshire" sits at Crewe.

The loco had finished it's part of the return stint of Pathfinder tours "The Blue Boys Ribble Rouser", running as 1Z06 Preston Docks (Ribble Railway) to Eastleigh. This portion had been top and tailed with 66428 leading, working via Wigan North Western, Warrington Royal Mail Terminal, Acton Bridge and Gretsy Green Loop. At Crewe, the locos were changed for 88001 & 68004 for a high speed dash down the WCML to Nuneaton. These then gave way to 37069 & 37609 for the run back home via Coventry, Leamington Spa, Didcot & Basingstoke.
