Cold and gray Chicago mornin - a photo on Flickriver

I believe Elvis sang about a "cold and gray Chicago mornin" in his song, "In the Ghetto". Well on this particular morning we have one of those cold and gray ones in progress as a CP manifest train rolls south on the Belt Rwy. of Chicago mainline, approaching the overhead bridge to cross over BNSF's former CB&Q/BN Race Track. He’s also passing the last remnant of Western Electric's Hawthorne Works. Hawthorne Works produced telephones and other related communications equipment such as war time ship phone systems in this massive factory that once employed 45,000 people. The tower you see was the factory's water tower, and is all that's left of the factory.
