Rocky Terrain, Perfect for a Cliff Chipmunk (Tamias dorsalis)

The Cliff Chipmunk (Tamias dorsalis) is found in the western United States along rocky cliffs and boulder strewn terrain or near arid woodlands with Juniper, Piñon and Ponderosa Pine. It has been reported in parts of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, and northern Mexico. It's diet includes seeds, nuts, berries, insects, baby birds, eggs, amphibians, and snakes. They do not accumulate body fat, so cache their food for the winter.
This animal was observed on January 22, 2020 at Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Superior, Arizona.
