Every (regular) now and then a small group of Flickrians from Berlin meet for what in German we call "Stammtisch" (= regular's table). Our Flickr-Stammtisch takes place in changing locations, we meet to take photos, to discuss and try out / practice photographic techniques, take lunch or dinner together, have fun; and usually we end our day together with a special highlight which this time was a film and lightshow "To the German people. A journey through parliamentary history from the Reichstag to the Bundestag" (STRG / CTRL+ www.bundestag.de/en#url=L2VuL2xpZ2h0LXNob3ctNTA3NjQ4&... ) at the riverbank next to the Reichstag building. That highlight, however, was actually almost upstaged by this wonderful sunset we saw when we walked down the Kapelle Ufer along the river Spree on our way from Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Central Station) to the Bundestag. Luckily, some of us looked back to Hauptbahnhof - otherwise we'd have missed this gorgeous, all natural show.

For this shot, I had mounted my camera on my small table top tripod (needed earlier that day to take interior photos from an angle as low as possible), and carefully edged it through the railing of the bridge / fence you can see on the right (it went down fairly steeply from there to the bank of the Spree, and the edge of bridge wasn't nearly as broad as it looks in this capture!). Slider-wise, I mostly hit the HSL sliders both in LR and in Luminar 3 to enhance those colours "to the MAX!!!" :-)

In Berlin treffen wir uns regelmäßig zu einem Flickr-Stammtisch. Wir gehen zusammen Essen, fachsimpeln (und lernen etwas) über bestimmte fotografische Techniken oder Stile - und natürlich gehen wir auch zusammen auf Fototour. Meistens suchen wir uns als Abschluss auch ein besonderes Highlight aus und beim letzten Treffen war das die Großbildprojektion „Dem deutschen Volke - eine parlamentarische Spurensuche. Vom Reichstag zum Bundestag“ am Reichstagsgebäude direkt am Spreeufer (STRG / CTRL+ www.bundestag.de/grossbildprojektion ). Dieses Highlight wurde aber fast noch von diesem wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang getoppt, den wir auf dem Weg vom Hauptbahnhof entlang der Spree zum Regierungsviertel sahen. Für dieses Foto hatte ich meine Kamera auf mein kleines Tischstativ (das ich an jenem Tag für Aufnahmen aus der Froschperspektive im Willy-Brandt-Haus eingepackt hatte) geschraubt und durch das Brückengeländer am Kapelle-Ufer geschoben. Mit gebotener Vorsicht, denn der Brückenvorsprung ist an dieser Stelle gar nicht so breit wie es hier Blick- und Weitwinkel-bedingt aussieht und es ging auch noch recht steil zum Spreeufer runter ;-) Ich wünsche Euch einen guten Wochenstart, liebe Flickr-Freunde!
