BR HST gets lost : 1996

            Irresistible little story from a UK tabloid newspaper. Stranger than fiction, really, that a crack British Rail express, London Paddington to Swansea, could get sent down the wrong line and end up in a dead-end siding. The Inter City 125 trains (High Speed Train or HST) such as in this incident were the ultimate in speed and comfort at the time, and some are still operating on main line semi-fast passenger trains (as of 2022). 
The article contains the usual tabloid hype ("valleys tour", "packed", "flashing" etc.) and typically an incorrect picture of an electric instead of diesel train; I also doubt that the train visited Bristol between London and Swansea.
