            A variety of New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) equipment is seen at Coney Island Yard on November 11, 1978, in what appears to be an open house or tour of the shop. 

R42 no. 4711 (St. Louis Car Co., 1969-1970) is visible, as are a BU Gate Car and a BMT Q car. The latter two cars are likely NY Transit Museum cars at the time of the photo, as the gate cars and Q cars had both been retired from revenue service for a few years. This view may very well be during the process of converting the NY Transit Museum's gate cars back from Q cars, an overhaul that was completed in 1979!
