            Stanier 'Princess Coronation' 4-6-2 no.46233 'Duchess of Sutherland' is well in control of the 'Scarborough Flyer' as she passed Slittingmill crossing on a very warm July morning. This was to be first shot of a day that should have seen another 4 images (2 of 'Duchess of Sutherland' & 2 of “Hogwarts”). However things went wrong from the start, on the journey from Staveley to York a multi-car pile-up on the A1 delayed us by about an hour. But we arrived with 20 minutes to spare, however the Duchess had also made advances in the timetable, so missed that shot. The “Hall” caused a fire, so a Class47 towed it passed, another shot gone. The returns also went awry, with diesels taking over; so out all day for 1 shot! Summers here again, as are diesels
