fire & brimstone & water - a photo on Flickriver

Mucking about at the superb Devils's Pulpit yesterday evening. There have been a lot of changes to this watercourse over the past 6months. Several areas are choked with big trees that have fallen in from above. This popular area with 2 low falls at the actual pulpit itself is unchanged. No KKK reference was intended although I realised the image might provoke a comment or 2.

with it being used to rally the clans in Scotland (Gaelic = Crann Tara) . I 1st came across this idea in a folk song 'Homeland' by Dougie McLean. The Scandinavians too used fiery crosses (Old Swedish buþkafle) to summon people. It is the 1st time we have used flaming hairspray in photographs and we couldn't think of anything else (Eddie's,..ahem... trademark image didn't quite come out as intended!) and I thought the fiery religious symbol fitted with well with the location's name: The Devil's Pulpit.
