Bighorn Sheep, Kamloops, BC - a photo on Flickriver

            This is my first crack at processing a long series I managed to capture high up on the side of what is locally in Kamloops called, Duncan Hill. There was another much larger male with huge horns in the herd, but I haven't tried to process the ones I captured of him yet. Perhaps one of the most special photographing wildlife moments I've been able to have so far in British Columbia since moving here a year ago. I've been hoping to one day get to sit near these amazing creatures, and then by sheer luck was in the right place at the right time. Physically it was about at my limits carrying a backpack and having to clamber off the path a bit. But still, all by myself on the side of a mountain in the presence of natural beauty and having decent gear in my hands to capture the memory for myself. There were seven of these in a small herd. I sat a distance away unobtrusive. What a thrill.
