Farmhouse at the Nature Conservancy - a photo on Flickriver

            The family who gave their farm to Howard County once lived in this house, preserved with the land around it from the building fever which dominates the county situated between Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland. In the seven or so years I’ve enjoyed the serenity of the Conservancy, I’ve watched the fields across Rte 99 disappear under densely built town houses and McMansions. Once the road is behind you, it is easy to forget the tranquillity of the Conservancy is surrounded by an ever growing sea of housing.
