'Pothuis' Nude. Sculpture, St Jorisstraat 12, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

            Ancient houses in The Netherlands often had attached to them a 'pothuis', a kind of annex to the kitchen which first served as a roof for collected rain water. Here and there they've not made way for 'modern' improvement. You can see one of these sheds - its roof handsomely adorned - in the Sint Jorisstraat 12 in Amsterdam (on the corner of the famed Reguliersdwarsstraat). The building itself is the oldest in the street and dates from 1642.
I've often walked past it and admired a sculpture of a naked man. Curiously, I haven't been able to find any information about it. But today I happened to meet Edwin de Vega who once ran the now defunct b&b 'Downtown'. He knew the lady who'd sculpted our man but had forgotten her name. All he could tell me was that she was/is Dutch but had moved to Switzerland even before he set up shop.
I haven't been able to find any other information. I wonder whether anyone out there in Flickrland can fill me in. Thanks.
