Preserved 1970 Leyland Leopard:Alexander 'Y' type, UPT517

            Dave Heron's beautifully restored bus is Pictured here at the NEBPT's Bus rally, Howlands Park, Durham. This is not an ex-Venture vehicle, indeed it never operated in service for anyone.
New to the Road Transport Industry Training Board in 1970, originally registered TMS585H. Painted in the livery of the Venture Transport Company, Consett. The ‘Y’ type was my favourite single deck bus body ever. In 40 years of bus/coach driving (on and off) I never once got to drive one!!!
