7D MII - test image 1 - a photo on Flickriver

            Great Blue Heron - The first test image processed from the new Canon 7D MII and a Canon 500mm f4 lense ..... unfortunately Adobe is as yet not supporting this camera so these images were partially processed and converted from RAW files into Jpeg using DPP and then further processing was done in Photoshop. Notwithstanding the considerably different processing workflow I tried to stay as close to how I would process these images were they from my 1D MIV. Both shots were at ISO 400 so this was not a test to review the noise characteristics of the camera more just a how does it compare in a normal shooting environment and at this point I think it compares very well with the 1D MIV. The AF seems at least as fast and the new zone system is fabulous. I should add that I processed these on my laptop which I rarely do so I may have tweaked the colours and sharpening a bit much.
