Operation Pale Horse (41) - a photo on Flickriver

            Following a series of raids that came up empty, the task force continued its effort to ascertain the whereabouts of Pale Horse, a Russian scientist believed to be assisting a terrorist group in building a dirty bomb. The TF also believed that a Russian Spetsnaz team was also hot on Pale Horse’s tail and was raiding the same location as the task force. 

After several dead ends, SIGINT has located a signal associated with a cell phone used by Pale Horse at a compound in Chalang Valley. Although the intelligence was thin and there was a heavy insurgent presence in the valley, there were a limited number of leads in tracking Pale Horse. After meeting with all the TF team leaders, decision was made to launch a raid. Team 7 was tasked to raid the target compound. 

To mitigate the heavy insurgent presence in the valley, several American ground elements were inserted as a show of force to distract the enemies. Recon Elements from the DRP were also inserted on the high ground to provide surveillance and overwatch.
