Great Orme Tramway, Llandudno, 2025

            On the Great Orme's Old Road passing loop, Great Orme Tramway car 4 allows car 5 to pass, as it makes the steep roadway ascent to the Halfway Station on the Great Orme.

Beautifully maintained, cars 4 & 5 work the steep lower road section, while cars 6 & 7 work the upper section to the summit. These are the original cars from 1902, but of course have been rebuilt and regularly maintained over the decades.

Missing are cars 1 to 3. These were short, four-wheeled open cars used for freight movement, but were withdrawn and disposed of in circa 1911. This was just 9-years after the inauguration of the the cable hauled tramway in 1902.
